About me

I have been a licensed clinical social worker, working in the field of aging for over 25 years, specifically in the management of adult day care programs and with the families using these services. I have received training in Life Coaching and have incorporated this into my 20+ year private practice.

I provide supportive counseling, consultation and educational programs to help families and businesses learn how to deal effectively with issues related to the aging of our older family members.

Additionally, I now have over 3 years’ experience directing the clinical department of a nation-wide Employee Assistance Program, while supporting workers with issues that cause them stress, affecting their ability to focus at work to the degree they would like and providing consultations with their employers.

The following are the highlights of my career:

  • Publication of The Positive Interactions Program, in 1998, by Health Professions Press, which is a highly read and recommended book for professionals who work in settings with persons with Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Working  with hundreds of families, older adults and those caring for a loved one.
  • 23 years of leadership in the adult day service program industry
  • Chairing Missouri Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging
  • Mentoring professionals operating adult day service programs for the  Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Partners in Caregiving Program
  • Writing weekly online articles for a highly read and visited e-zine – Caregivers Home Companion

It has been  gratifying to work as a counselor and coach, watching good, smart people like you take steps, take action and make a difference in their personal and private lives.  It doesn’t get better than that!
